FIRST AID LEVEL 1

This is a basic entry level course that deals with the basics of first aid. Great course for beginners and this is the basic first aid course required by the Dept Of Labour. This is the first aid course required by the Occupational Health and Safety act.

I recommend that you look at the topics covered in level 2 if you enjoy first aid or know someone with medical conditions such as epilepsy, diabetes etc, in level 2 we also discuss poisoning, spinal injuries, etc.

Module 1              Basic Principles of First Aid and Safety

Module 2              Vital Signs

Module 3              Shock and Fainting

Module 4              Examination of a Patient

Module 5              Triage (Emergency Scene  Management)

Module 6              Choking Emergencies

Module 7             Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Module 8             Wound dressings and Bandages

Module 10           Bleeding & Wounds

Module 11           Burn wounds

Module 12           Fractures .

FIRST AID LEVEL 2

This is more detailed than Level 1, Persons must be in possession of a valid First aid level 1 certificate to enroll for this course, the option of doing level 1 & 2 combined as one course is available (you do not need a valid certificate if you do the combined course).

In first aid level 2 we review the first aid level 1 topics and start looking at additional topics such as medical conditions (epilepsy, diabetes etc) we also discuss poisoning, spinal injuries, anatomy and physiology, etc. We also cover insect, scorpion and snake bites which is great for field guides ( Our courses are recognized by FGASA and SWIMSA)

I recommend that you look at the topics covered in first aid level 3 if you enjoy first aid and have done a first aid level 2 course, we cover more topics in depth such as drowning, emergency child birth, more medical conditions, HIV, etc.

FIRST AID LEVEL 3

This is advanced first aid, and highly recommended for the person taking charge of first aid in the workplace, Persons must be in possession of a valid First aid level 2 certificate.

In first aid level 3 we review the first aid level 1 & 2 topics and start looking at additional topics such as drowning, improvisation, carrying techniques, AED, emergency child birth, HIV AIDS, etc
